I was born 5th of 9 children and grew up in the suburban St. Louis neighborhood of Maryland Heights.  I graduated from DeSmet Jesuit High School and received my undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry from UMSL (with the middle 1 ½ years at the Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH).  After working for a year in Ann Arbor, MI as an environmental chemist, I returned to St. Louis in 1992 to enter Kenrick-Glennon Seminary to begin my studies for the priesthood.  In April of 1998 I received my Master of Divinity and M.A. in Systematic Theology and then was ordained to the priesthood the following month.  During my 18 years of priestly ministry I have served in O’Fallon, MO at Immaculate Conception, in Washington, MO at St. Francis Borgia, and since 2009 I have been here at Ste. Genevieve.  I now split time between the Church of Ste. Genevieve and Sts. Philip & James in River Aux Vases, where I was named pastor in 2014.  When not engaged in ministry, I enjoy many things.  Along with time spent with family and my priest brothers I also enjoy the outdoors, reading, and playing cards.

I fulfilled my lifelong desire to serve God when I was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate on June 4, 2016.  My first vow though, was when I married Jill in November, 1986.  Originally from the MO Bootheel, we moved to the area in 1988.  I am proud of my family which includes two sons, Christopher and Austin, one daughter-in-law, Ashley, and my beautiful granddaughter, Olivia, who is "Grandpa's joy".  I feel very honored and privileged to serve the parishioners of Sainte Genevieve Parish.
